Episteme 2022, a collaborative effort between Pravaha, Indian Institute of Space, Science, and Technology (IIST) Thiruvananthapuram, and Agastya International Foundation, was a transformative two-week residential program for highly able children, conducted at IIST.
Emphasizing an integrative learning approach, it introduced 36 selected children from across India to the intricacies of Space, Science, Math, and Natural Sciences.
Episteme 2022 offered a rich experience with interactive lectures and lab visits, focusing on Space Science, Math, and Natural Sciences. This program aimed to ignite a passion for scientific exploration and nurture socio-emotional growth, in line with Pravaha’s commitment to holistic learning.

The program included engaging academic sessions led by IIST faculty. Students were introduced to complex concepts through a blend of lectures and practical demonstrations, enhancing their understanding and curiosity.
Participants explored IIST’s modern space research facilities, gaining first-hand exposure to advanced scientific research and methodologies. The sessions provided a glimpse into the practical aspects of space science.
The program offered unique opportunities for practical astronomy experience, including sky-watching sessions at the observatory. It enabled students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting.
Students had the chance to meet and gain insights from some of the country’s leading space researchers. It was an experience that broadened their perspectives and understanding of the field.
